HAVANA LINEN & RAW SILK COLLECTION
Did you know that both linen and silk are organic, biodegradable and recyclable?
When we choose our fabrics we pay special attention to the properties of each one.
Linen is one of the world’s oldest fabrics, its cultivation dates back to the 4th century BC in Egypt. It was the first vegetable fabric used in the fashion industry. It is hypoallergenic and very breathable, so it has temperature regulating properties and it can absorb 20% its weight in moisture before it feels wet.
Raw silk biodegrades quickly and cleanly (synthetics take between 300-600 years to breakdown, and release chemicals into the soil as they do so). Silk retains moisture without feeling damp, so it's able to efficiently cool skin in the summer. It's also thermally stable, meaning it provides insulation in the winter.
When properly taken care of, both linen and silk are very long lasting fabrics. So expect to enjoy our pieces as a part of your closet for many years to come.
Our production is small and proudly made in local workshops in Spain.
